None of the following updates would be possible without sobriety. I’m grateful and humbled. Not everyone lives to tell about it. Only an hour after I snapped this selfie in the sunlight I was sitting in a funeral. Why? Never in a million years did I think I would legitimately obtain a red chip. These past few months have been some of the best of my life. And it’s only a taste of what’s to come.
Meet your new librarian! Within a few hours of interviewing for the part-time position I received an offer. I’m thrilled. Anything pertaining to books is a dream job for me and has been since I was a child. Working outside of the home wasn’t a part of my plan…but the universe had other plans. Seeing as how the library is my second home I noticed help wanted sign as soon as it was posted and immediately applied. I start next week.
I’ve got my eye on the promotion prize with my business. My personal business model deviates from the suggested norm but– like everything else in my life– I insisted on doing it my way. I wanted to build my team on my terms. Now I’ve reached the point where I’m looking to expand. If you’re looking for some extra income without drastically altering your routine then we should talk. Tatum just turned 4 and Adam will be 8 in a couple of weeks. What a fun age for siblings. They feed off of each other at times [which makes for an exasperated mama] but their energy captivates me. Every parent probably feels this way but I truly have some of the most incredible children ever. Never a dull moment!
Note to self: make more videos of and blogs about the kiddos. They won’t stay young forever.
Dad and I found ourselves on Cleveland after an errand yesterday morning so we stopped into Phuong Long for an early lunch. I ordered the Curry Tofu while he opted for the Mongolian Chicken. Delicious. There weren’t even crumbs to speak of by the time we cleaned our plates. We’ll definitely be repeat customers. I’m itching to try Al Rayan, a middle eastern restaurant two doors down from Phuong Long. Speaking of Vietnamese restaurants on Cleveland, we drove by the pile of rubble that was formerly Saigon Le. Here’s to hoping they reopen soon.
In other food news, I now worship our newly purchased blender. All hail the Oster. I’m obsessed with the idea of fruit and vegetable smoothies. Please share with me your favorite recipes if you have them.
One week from today. Just seven days stand between our long awaited reunion. We’re just ready to move forward with our lives…but we will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. I’m so proud of you, Mr. Carter. See you next Friday.
