Halloween, Samhain, Creepy Cupids

We spent Halloween at Theresa’s with the usual crew.  Conspicuously absent were Maris and her family.  Things just weren’t the same without them.  When my soul sister’s not there the best I can hope for is Benedict Cumberbatch status.

In other news, my kids received enough candy to give them a sugar high for the remainder of the 21st century.

I get a double dose of celebration with trick or treat action and Samhain.  For those of you unfamiliar with the latter I suggest you explore here.  One of the suggestions Selena Fox gives in her article is a meditative nature walk.  Approaching our cove from the north [my usual route], this is the sight I see.  Whether I’m passing it on my daily walk and/or run or in a vehicle….the tree tunnel lets me know I have arrived.  Isn’t it beautiful?

This is when I know I'm home.

Ready for some déjà vu?  Correct me if I’m wrong but I swear we’ve had this discussion before.  Every time I sign into le online dating service, yet another potential suitor offers me their phone number.  Really?!  I appreciate the vote of confidence, considering you don’t know me from Eve….but who are you?  Despite your overzealous trust which leads you to believe I am not a psychotic stalker and/or serial killer unsavory type I just haven’t reached such a rapport with you.  Next to my Social Security Number my digits are the least likely thing you’ll obtain from me.  Thank you and good night.

With infinite love, gratitude, and respect,

About Cocktails With Hemingway

I'm blunt and opinionated. Virtually everything I say or do is a contradiction but I'm not a hypocrite. I never hesitate to speak my mind and never fail to leave an impression wherever I go. You love me, you hate me, but you'll never forget me.
