It’s been almost two weeks now since Maris had her knee replacement. Along with her husband and mother I waited at the hospital for her during the surgery, which went without a hitch. Currently she’s recovering in a physical therapy/rehabilitation unit. Most recently I saw her Friday– I went with her to a PT session– and we spent some cuddle time with Mr. Wilson. Luckily she was in great spirits having seen “Pootie Tang” on television earlier in morning so that gave her the extra oomph needed to fly through PT. I watched her ‘slice bologna’ and navigate a mock apartment [don’t you just love the felon fruit?] before we retreated to our room to put on our respective antenna. Knowing us all too well Z thought we’d appreciate neon orange twisty ties so we could communicate on our own special level. In all seriousness, I could have cried when I saw Maris bounce out of her wheelchair and start burning mock apartment carpet. Despite having major surgery she moved better than I’ve seen in months. I can’t wait to see her continued recovery! Once she gets her other knee done we’ll have to strap on antennae and train for a triathlon. 😉
With infinite love, gratitude, and respect,
