NaNoWriMo

It’s National Novel Writing Month and I’ve joined the movement!  NaNoWriMo challenges participants to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November, averaging out to 1700 words a day.  Being the procrastinator I am I’ve written nary a sentence– and it’s the tenth of the month– so it’s time to do NaNoWriMo my way before it’s lost in the abyss of unfinished projects in my brain.  2500 words daily:  no distractions, no interruptions, no excuses.  Even if the end result falls below my expectations at least I’ll have a guideline, a draft of a draft.

As of 11/9/13 this is my masterpiece.

As of 11/9/13 this is my masterpiece.

My book about what happened in California is long overdue.  These next 20 says guarantee to keep me on my toes.  Yet I am so ready for this challenge.  It’s only fitting that this is the two year anniversary of the worst day of my life…..and I could not think of a better way to channel my emotions than [finally] creating my novel.  Thanks for the inspiration, Sharon Murch.  I’m determined to make this happen.

With infinite love, gratitude, and respect,

Sloane

About Cocktails With Hemingway

I'm blunt and opinionated. Virtually everything I say or do is a contradiction but I'm not a hypocrite. I never hesitate to speak my mind and never fail to leave an impression wherever I go. You love me, you hate me, but you'll never forget me.
