Angelo Merendino captured a photo journey of his wife, Jennifer Merendino, and her battle with breast cancer.  Having lost two close friends to cancer this resonated deeply with me.  Merendino’s tenderness towards his beloved– combined with his dedication to documenting her ordeal– speaks volumes about the meaning of love.  He truly exemplifies “in sickness and in health” as found in many marriage vows.  I applaud Mr. Merendino for using photography as a way to educate others by sharing their respective stories during their darkest days.  Kelli, thank you for sharing this article on Facebook.

Please look at the poignant images and read more about his non-profit, The Love You Share.

When your significant other struggles with illness it permeates every aspect of your life.  My boyfriend navigates the stormy seas of poor health.  He’s not terminally ill, thank God, but it requires tremendous effort on his part to stay on top of things.  To say I worry constantly is the understatement of the century.  Catastrophic sicknesses seem so far removed from our lives….until it happens to you or someone you love.

With infinite love, gratitude, and respect,

About Cocktails With Hemingway

I'm blunt and opinionated. Virtually everything I say or do is a contradiction but I'm not a hypocrite. I never hesitate to speak my mind and never fail to leave an impression wherever I go. You love me, you hate me, but you'll never forget me.
