The life aquatic

Our clan went swimming with Merilynn not too long ago.  No words of mine can ever come close to articulating what this fantastic woman means to our family.  Hell, she is family.  One day I’ll have to transcribe the Book of Merilynn that I found on the golden plates wrapped in the magical underwear.  😉

On August 31st, Adam swam for the first time without his life vest!  As much as I wanted him to master the art of swimming I wasn’t rushing his progress, insisting on lessons, or pressuring him in any way.  I knew that when he felt safe and confident in the water he’d remove the vest on his own accord.  It is counterintuitive to rush your child with a milestone.  Yes, this from the Mommy who started potty training her little Michael Phelps when he was six weeks old.  Live and learn.

Have I mentioned yet how glad I am that we’re home?  Not a day goes by where I don’t count our blessings.

With infinite love, gratitude, and respect,

Sloane

About Cocktails With Hemingway

I'm blunt and opinionated. Virtually everything I say or do is a contradiction but I'm not a hypocrite. I never hesitate to speak my mind and never fail to leave an impression wherever I go. You love me, you hate me, but you'll never forget me.
