Somebody can barely contain their enthusiasm for kindergarten

Somebody can barely contain their enthusiasm for kindergarten

Yesterday Adam registered for kindergarten.  Where has the time gone?  Come August 5th Germantown Elementary School won’t know what hit them.  Parents, educators, and concerned citizens may not know how the unified school district will play out….it doesn’t matter.  He can attend a Shelby County school.  He can attend a Germantown Municipal school.  He can attend a Unified School District school.  Call it what you will.  All that matters is the fact that he’ll be attending a school with the coordinates of 35.09 N, 89.79 W that is located in Shelby County in the great state of Tennessee!  It’s nothing short of a miracle that my son is home where he belongs.  So many people worked tirelessly to get him out of California and I’m eternally grateful.  We’re reunited and living in the Memphis area.  I could not ask for anything more.

I eagerly embrace things of this nature.

I eagerly embrace notifications of this nature.

Luckily I’m off the day of the first parent meeting.  Being an involved mother– both in and out of the classroom– is imperative.  Such opportunity was consistently denied to me in California and it’s not something I take for granted.  You can bet I’ll proudly join the PTA and volunteer for school activities as often as I’m allowed.  Go Cardinals!

With infinite love, gratitude, and respect,
Sloane

About Cocktails With Hemingway

I'm blunt and opinionated. Virtually everything I say or do is a contradiction but I'm not a hypocrite. I never hesitate to speak my mind and never fail to leave an impression wherever I go. You love me, you hate me, but you'll never forget me.
