Life of Brian

It is a policy of mine to always chat up my seatmate whenever I fly.  Not everybody wants to talk– sometimes they’re working, sleeping, or not feeling social.  But still I try.  As you can imagine I’ve met some pretty fascinating people and had some pretty interesting conversations.  Two of them I’ve even kept in touch with after I deplaned.  One of them I met up with again, this time planned.

Eating at Sakura

Sakura now has an east Memphis location in addition to the Germantown original.

Business brought Brian to Memphis for a few days.  Wednesday night after work I met him at his hotel for happy hour.  Then our chauffeur [Embassy Suites is definitely not Motel 6] drove us to Sakura, a yummy Japanese restaurant.  I cannot even tell you how wonderful it was to catch up with him under more pleasant circumstances.  He met me on a late night flight from Charlotte to Memphis in November ’12….as I was coming home to see Tatum for the first time since her birth nine months earlier.  Isn’t it funny– and ironic– how much things can change in a few months?

TWO MINUTES!

With infinite love, gratitude, and respect,

Sloane

About Cocktails With Hemingway

I'm blunt and opinionated. Virtually everything I say or do is a contradiction but I'm not a hypocrite. I never hesitate to speak my mind and never fail to leave an impression wherever I go. You love me, you hate me, but you'll never forget me.
