Adam the fire fighter!

He loved climbing on the fire engine.

Having graced the planet with my presence for almost 26 years now, I’ve learned a few things along the way. Chief among them being I am not always an easy person to get along with…..and I’m certainly a handful if you are blessed/cursed enough to be my partner. So I can only imagine what an already difficult Sloane is like during pregnancy. Poor Will. He deserves a medal when he’s not irritating the living !@#$%^&* out of me. Last night he so irked me that I changed my Facebook status to ‘separated.’ Isn’t that moody, hormonal frustration almost tangible? Grrrr.

Thankfully the wrath of the prego waited until Adam was in bed to unleash– and we had a fun day as a family yesterday. In Germantown, the library and the fire department are a stone’s throw from each other, so we decided to visit both. Adam’s obsessed with firefighters [and has the toys, books, television preferences, etc. to prove it] so a trip to find a book for my dad turned into the perfect opportunity to see some fire engines up close and personal. Not only did Adam get to climb in the truck, he got a shiny sticker and his very own fire hat! To say he was excited is an understatement. I think he was so thrilled he was on stun.

We then spent some time cooling off in the children’s section of the library followed by lunch and a play session at Chick-fil-A. It never ceases to amaze me how Adam can befriend anyone instantly. He’s such a warm and loving person, so friendly and charismatic. I don’t think he’s ever met a stranger. Parents and teachers for other grades stop all the time in the halls of school and tell us how affable he is. They know his name and he always remembers theirs.

While I’ve been bookmarking links like crazy, I’ve struggled with a bit of writer’s block. I’ll always share links and photos with you that I think are worth seeing but it’s no match for original content. Bear with me as I have lots of opinionated pieces that will be seeing the light of day sooner rather than later.

Dear 575 Moroscgo Dr.,

I’ll speak to you through the business address: what a shame that I cannot publish either of your comments because you cower behind a bogus email address and the safety of ‘anonymous.’ I do think there is some merit to some of your beliefs– and they would spark a great conversation– but nobody will see your thoughts unless you have the confidence to share them….as yourself. Either leave your name and legitimate information or stop commenting. Considering I’ve been a highly controversial guest on a national television program, I have zero tolerance for people who hide behind their anonymity. Just because I know who you are doesn’t mean everybody else does. 😉

There was a New Moon Ritual that I really wanted Will to attend with me tonight: “Hands on Healing Techniques.” I’m very interested in the presentations and thought it would be a good way for my [not so separated] husband to meet some of my ‘Pagan people’ and learn about things that are not familiar to him.  Hopefully we’ll be able to attend the next one as today ended up being kind of crazy.  😉

With infinite love, gratitude, and respect,

About Cocktails With Hemingway

I'm blunt and opinionated. Virtually everything I say or do is a contradiction but I'm not a hypocrite. I never hesitate to speak my mind and never fail to leave an impression wherever I go. You love me, you hate me, but you'll never forget me.
