Yesterday afternoon Adam raised a ruckus, thus earning himself a stint in time-out. After removing everything from his crib I placed him inside and sprinted to my room to absorb as much AMC [I’m loving their Memorial Day movie marathon– Apocalypse Now two days in a row?!– yes please!] as possible during my temporary reprieve. As I’m watching Martin Sheen’s boat getting pelted with arrows, I hear Adam’s door open across the hall. Before I can fully make the connection he’s standing at the top of the stairs, which I can see from my bed, and makes the announcement: “I’m done with time-out!’ and waltzes down the stairs. Well then.
Santa gifted us with a convertible crib the Christmas prior to Adam’s birth. It is a crib no more…..we’ve made the conversion to a day bed. And he adores it! His eyes lit up and he excitedly squealed about his ‘big boy bed’ before jumping enthusiastically on the mattress. Surprisingly enough he remains in his bed for his nap– which we’re in the process of phasing out– and during the nights. My big boy. =)
