What’s been going on in my world?
Guess who passed the 90 day employment mark and qualifies for health insurance?! C’est moi. Glory hallelujah! I literally went home and wept. Knowing that I’m insured lifts a considerable burden from my shoulders. Not only do I love my job, but it’s giving me access to my own policy number? Yes please. Bonus points for the fact that I’m officially considered a long term employee now. As if I’d ever quit. They’ll get rid of me as they wheel my casket out the front door and pry the Skellig out of my cold, stiff hand.
Depending on the schedule I get two or three days off per week– and I make it a priority to spend at least one of those days with Maris. Whether we’re shuttling around to doctor’s appointments, eating Krystal by the sack full, or posing for photo shoots in the cemetery [true story], the time we share is invaluable. If you’re lucky enough to have one true friend then you’re lucky enough.
Isn’t my daughter beautiful? Thank you, Ms. Jane, for the adorable outfit; and thank you, Tammy, for the gorgeous photo. I can just hear her saying ‘adorable I am‘ in a Yoda voice here. My sweet Tater Bug looks wise beyond her years.
One of her newest tricks is The Look. Ask her to give it to you and this is the priceless face she produces. She oozes personality out of every pore, she’s such a little entertainer. I’m eagerly anticipating the inevitable language explosion that we’ll get in the next few months. Spend five minutes with her and it’s blatantly obvious she’s got attitude….and I can’t wait for her to verbalize it.
Adam’s filled with the energy one would expect from a five year old boy. Meanwhile, Mommy tries not to have a heart attack. Both mother and son give thanks daily that they live in a place where events such as the Germantown Festival are local. As of this month they are officially Tennessee residents!
Just to reiterate….Adam and I are Tennessee residents! To prove our point we had Bapa snap this picture of us on his school playground. Lest there be any confusion we’re standing on the Volunteer State.
Adam’s school does lots of cool things, such as the book fair. Mommy and Adam both hit the jackpot at said book fair. [[Sidenote: My manager also scored this book for her family at their respective book fair-- great minds think alike.]]
Having a son who idolizes your style is such a compliment. In a few years I’ll probably mortify him, but for the time being I’m his fashion hero, including ‘tattoos.’ Hopefully he’ll never stop thinking I’m cool.
Never did I think I’d be so upset over a long distance relationship….I miss Z terribly. Once we’re in the same city again my missing puzzle piece will be complete. He’s captured my heart. And I’ve fallen in love.
With infinite love, gratitude, and respect,
