I survived XXVII. Good riddance. Apparently it’s a crappy year for lots of other folks too. Just ask Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Amy Winehouse. Welcome, 28!
Spending some quality time with Adam topped my priority list. Because I could not attend his most recent birthday party I decided to give him mine. We had a fun celebration at Chuck E. Cheese, just the two of us [and Bapa]. Be sure to check out the birthday video on YouTube. My son is my favorite person to be around….and I cannot wait until he shares that honor with Tatum. I’m excited for her to express herself with language and want to know more of her emerging personality.
Fettucine alfredo from Brooklyn Bridge is the most glorious food on the planet. So when Sarah suggested a group date, I jumped at the chance, pulling the birthday card to insist we dine at the restaurant of my choosing. After stuffing our faces we headed to Famous so I could get some new ink. You’ll now find one of my favorite lyrics from Everclear on my left forearm. My 14th tattoo on my 28th birthday– half my age!
Regular readers will recognize C from our laser tag adventure. This was our second outing. I’m really glad he came. Not only did he fit in well with our group but my friends adored him. We’ll have a third date when schedules permit. As much of a good time as I’ve had with him when we’re running all over town, it will be nice to stay in and watch movies. I know he feels the same way. Plus I’m a homebody so people need to see me in my natural element.
Thank you for my birthday card, C. I’m looking forward to round three.
With infinite love, gratitude, and respect,
